Electric versus Diesel
My vote is for diesel or rather some sort of combustion engine (such as a turbine) or even a hybrid rather than pure electric. There are some good arguments for electric buses, but the main problem with electric buses are the electric lines. The problem with the electric lines is twofold. First, they are another piece of infrastructure that must be built and maintained; they are another possibly weak link in the chain. The second problem is that buses can't pass each other on a line, so if one bus dies, the rest just stack up behind it. Prior to the new breed of diesel engines, there was good argument for keeping these smoke-belching buses off the streets, but not anymore. The new European breed of diesel engines are much more cleaner and efficient, and there aren't any good reasons not to use them.

If they really wanted me to take the bus instead of drive...
I live in one of the richest city's in the world, in one of the richest regions of the world, in one of the richest states in the U.S., which, if independent, would be one of the richest economies in the world. In short, even if you're not too well off here, you're still freakin' rich! But you know what? If I don't have $1.50 EXACT CHANGE for the bus, that's it, I can't get on. I mean, if they really want me to take the bus, they need to figure out how to take my money. Credit, debit, or cash.

Inactivity Redux
Okay, if you read that last post, let me set the record straight by saying, "Lie, lie and lie" because that is what it is. I did not sell/transfer my car to my niece (thank God!) because my sister's ex-husband's new wife gave her a used Mercedes which beats hell out of my '98 Ford Escort ZX2.
Second, I did not begin posting 'soon' but hopefully I'll start posting now because I have sh-t to say, I do. Third, I'm not buying a car anytime soon for one main reason; I'm unemployed and I can't afford it. But really, it's a crappy time to buy a car. I mean, there's nothing good and economical out there. There's economical and there's good, but there's not good and economical in the same vehicle, except maybe for the rinky-dink Think sold by Mercedes I think. So, I'm not too worried. I like my car despite itself. It's got a nice ass. What can I say?
